What should I do if the power has gone off?

First check whether your neighbours are affected, which points to the supply and not your wiring. If it is only you, check whether a breaker or the RCD has tripped. If it will not reset, or you can smell burning, leave it off and call Nick.

Is a burning smell an emergency?

Treat it seriously. Switch off at the consumer unit if it is safe to do so, keep clear of the area and call Nick. If you see flames or smoke, call 999.

Is this the same as an emergency call-out?
